[digital] AFFKT & Jairo Catelo - Been Touched Series 02

Artist(s): AFFKT & Jairo Catelo
Name: Been Touched Series 02
Genre: house, tech-house
Label: Sincopat
Catalog: Sincopat BT 002
No. of tracks: 4
Type: normal

Tracklist:

01. Hemanjai
02. Hemanjai (Negru Remix)
03. Skeletoraff
04. Skeletoraff (Samuel Dan Remix)

Opinion:

AFFKT and Jairo Catelo released a month ago a very interesting house EP, containing 2 tracks and 1 remix for each of them.Hemanjai starts the release with echoed vocals and trumpets that follow from the middle of the track to the end. And if you are not a trumpet lover, Negru welcomes you with a very cool bass-line starting exactly from the middle. Skeletoraff brings an old-school house vibe, while Samuel Dan`s remix has some deep-house influences, just before hitting you with angry vocals and strong percussion. Summing up, a very good EP that deserves to be listened (especially the remix by Negru), so that`s why I let you decide with the following videos:

[digital] Loco Dice - Knibbie Never Comes Alone/Loose Hooks

Artist(s): Loco Dice

Tracklist:

01. Knibbie Never Comes Alone

Opinion:

Loco is back on the Minus record label, after 5 years since his last release there. Since then, labels like Desolat, Cocoon, Cadenza and Ovum relied on his works. Now he is back with a 2-track EP, but is it worth buying?

Label: Connaisseur Recordings
Catalog: CNS044
No. of tracks: 2
Type: normal

Tracklist:

01. Was Bleibt (Jimpster Vocal Remix)
02. Heimat (Robag’s Turmkolle Rekksmow)

Opinion:

The staggering quality and originality exhibited by the duo known as Kollektiv Turmstrasse makes me wonder how much time do I have to wait until their next release. With their new album Rebellion der Träumer in stores, it`s time to look if the first remix EP rises to the high expectations I have.

[digital] Oliver Huntemann, Dubfire - Elements Volume 1&2 (Fuego & Terra)

Artist(s): Oliver Huntemann, Dubfire
Name: Elements Volume 1 & 2: Fuego & Terra
Genre: techno
Label: Ideal Audio
Catalog: Ideal 11-6
No. of tracks: 2 (one on each EP)
Type: Single-sided vinyls

Tracklist:

01. Fuego (1st EP)
02. Terra (2nd EP)

Opinion:

I hate one sided vinyl, as it spoils one vinyl just for one track. But I make an exception this time, as one of my favortie artists join together once more to create impressive techno tracks. This alliance created Diablo and Dios, and now it comes and recreates the 4 elements. Two of them are already in shops: Fire (Fuego) and Earth (Terra).

[digital] Nick Curly - Series 1.2 EP

Artist(s): Nick Curly
Name: Series 1.2
Genre: tech-house
Label: Cecille
Catalog: CEC010
No. of tracks: 3

Tracklist:

01. Stuntman
02. Disco Miami
03. Play

Opinion:

Good music has no age. And on this blog I will try to review not only the fresh tracks but also the ones that remained in my heart long after I first heard them. Like the Series EPs from Nick Curly, 3 pieces of vinyl released on 8bit (the first) and on Cecille (the ones to come). You can find my review of the final installment here.

[digital] DJ T. – City Life EP

Artist(s): DJ T. feat. Cari Golden
Name: City Life
Genre: tech-house, house
Label: Get Physical
Catalog: GPM150
No. of tracks: 3
Type: unmixed

Tracklist:

01. City Life (Dj T.`s rework)
02. City Life (Maceo Plex remix)
03. City Life (Maya Jane Coles remix)

Opinion:

Thomas Koch, that releases his work under the name of DJ T., is definitely one of the pillars of Get Physical Music. And it is only normal to celebrate 150 releases with a remix pack of his City Life track, out with his new album, The Pleasure Principle. This EP contains 3 remixes, one signed by Mr.T himself, and the other 2 by Maceo Plex and Maya Jane Coles.
